West Long Branch is a small and intimate community located between the towns of Long Branch and Eatontown.  Major redevelopments to the Long Branch area have brought popular attractions to the area like the shopping/dining and entertainment mall, Pier Village, an ocean-front boardwalk attraction.

The city of West Long Branch is home to approximately 8,258 people, occupying 2,448 households.  65% are married couples living together and 35% have children living under the age of 18 in the home.  The median income for a family was $80,127.  The median age in West Long Branch is 34.

West Long Branch shares a border with Long Branch which continues to redevelop and grow. Transition projects are underway to transform the lower Broadway area of Long Branch into an eclectic Arts District. One of the first successes of the new art district is the Shore Institute for Contemporary Art on Broadway and Third Avenue.

West Long Branch is within minutes to the sandy white beaches and boardwalks of Long Branch and other NJ shore beach towns like Seabright.  The shore area has some of New Jersey’s most exquisite restaurants like McCloone’s Riverside and Sawa Japanese Steakhouse at Pier Village.  The miles of beach and boardwalk make for great outdoor activities like running, biking and roller blading.

In 2005, Pier Village opened on the boardwalk of Long Branch.  Pier Village is an outdoor shopping and entertainment center featuring local and national restaurants and shopping boutiques.  The village spans the Atlantic Ocean and visitors can walk the boardwalk while enjoying shopping and dining at many well known stores and restaurants. During the summer, Pier Village is filled with live entertainment and an abundance of outdoor fun!

The West Long Branch school district serves students in Kindergarten through 8th grade.

Schools in the district are Betty McElmon Elementary School, serving kindergarten through 3rd grade; and Frank Antonides School, for students in grades 4 - 8.

Students in grades 9 – 12 attend Shore Regional High School, a regional high school that serves students of Monmouth Beach, Sea Bright, Oceanport and West Long Branch.

Monmouth University is a four-year private university on a 155-acre campus established in 1933. It currently has 5,600 students and 232 full-time faculties. The campus is notable for Wilson Hall, a National Historic Landmark that was used in the 1982 film Annie.
